The Packmarknaden prize category, called the Packaging Design Award, is awarded to a company that launches an imaginative, innovative and eye-catching packaging.

The jury’s motivation
"When the company launched a brand new, complete range of rainwater products with a name of Caracol, borrowed from a beautiful waterfall in Brazil, they have chosen to let the packaging also be a communication channel for the brand. Name and design are well thought out.
The design reflects the high quality of the products and increases the emotional value for customers. The light blue color in various combinations with the black creates a strong identity at a low cost. There will undoubtedly be a highlight on the usually high and boring stock shelves!"
With the packaging for the Caracol product range, Areco has definitely gone against the stream in the quite conservative construction sheet metal sector, where traditionally products have not been differentiated in this striking way.
By creating the Caracol brand and packing it in attractive packaging designs, Areco has chosen to stand out from the competitors in terms of name, colour choice and design.
The packaging series has been developed in close cooperation with Smurfit Kappa and the award was presented by Packmarknaden at Scanpack 2012.
